'In Poe Park'

A special group of musicians, actors, writers and designers worked together on a stylish show in the Tolhuistuin where the audience underwent a colorful set of interpretations of work and themes of Edgar Allan Poe.

The nineteenth century writer Poe was the inspiration for a performance full of music at a most appropriate venue: the Tolhuistuin: the former execution field of Amsterdam, now a cultural center. We look back on a successful first performance of our partnership Ghost Music.

Impression of In Poe Park

The merit of this project is that we succeeded in creating a special world with EA Poe at its center. A world which, though composed of relatively simple means, was complete in itself. The audience was for one and a half hour part of this world. These days, people are looking for inspiring alternatives to the daily reality, a hidden desire for enchantment. Expressionist decoration of the garden, fiction and non-fiction of Poe, where 19th century elements were interspersed with contemporary ideas, resulted in a kaleidoscopic experience.
