The Wild West
(A film by Susan Koenen, produced by John Appel & Heddy Honigmann and HUMAN. For the 2010 edition of the IDFA, shown in Tuschinski theatre.)
Mini-synopsis: How the children of Amsterdam-West are building huts, as if their lives depend on it, which might be just the case.
A composition for the Broekpolder VINEX location: Great New Town / A Different View
About dismantling a pop song in about 15 minutes. It describes the boundary of dusk, when the day ends, and the evening begins. Ideally the best time to listen to this music.

Letter to the king

Under the surface
(Over het IJ, Frascati)
I previously composed some music for Marjolijn van Heemstra's theatrical solos Astronaut and Submarine. We then continued to make songs of her poems and other texts, it all came together: Under the Surface, an imaginary journey to the bottom of the ocean. At the Over het IJ festival we presented this somewhat bizarre show from the port of Amsterdam, onboard the Greenpeace vessel Sirius.
Wooff Wooff, or who killed Richard Wagner?
('t Barre Land)
This amazing story from writer Stefan Themerson, in which policemen are in search of the character assassin of Friedrich Nietzscheut but refuse to talk to dogs, is brought by actor Ingejan Ligthart Schenk, with live music by Roald van Oosten (Caesar, Ghosttrucker) and the paper creatures of the Armenian artist Karen Sargsyan (Thieme Award winner 2007) as competitors.
Her Lives, Her Deaths
(De Veenfabriek, Roald van Oosten)
In warehouse 'V&D' in the city of Leiden, we made the- affectionately abbreviated "Her Lives" or, in a more gloomy mood, "Her Deaths '. I wrote songs and music on the lyrics of playwright Martin Crimp. Disco Pusher The Camera Loves You was later discovered on You Tube by the daughters of Crimp who send their father to the show.
